OK, so as I stated in my last post, I was inspired by a book I recently read. The Power of Self-Discipline by Peter Hollins. This book was a game changer for me. I picked it up at my local library but if you would like a hard copy, you can find it here. The Power of self-Discipline.

This book makes you take a deep look into why you haven’t been successful and takes a hard look at the constant excuses we make. It also provides the tools you need to change your mindset and get your shit done. I highly recommend if you need that initial motivation for a change!

Now that I was mentally motivated, I needed to motivate myself physically. I could not wait to get started and start really challenging myself. One thing I learned from the book, and quite honestly is common sense, was to move my phone charger to my bathroom. This not only forces me out of bed when my alarm goes off but also prevents me from doom scrolling at night. This allows for better sleep so that I am not groggy when I wake up at 6 am. Once I am out of bed, dressed and teeth brushed, I go downstairs to take my pre workout. Now before you panic, I looked at reviews for several pre workouts. My husband was also hesitant for me to start this. BUT, I found a great product through Bloom. Bloom Rainbow Ice Pre Workout

I am really loving this product right now. I take 1 scoop in 8 oz of water first thing in the morning. There is no sugar added and it tastes SO GOOD! I get that sustainable energy I need without the jitters or feeling like I could run through a wall. It seriously feels like I am just naturally energized. Now, with that being said, I have not tried anything else. So I have nothing to compare this to. But right now as a beginner, I am extremely happy with my choice.

Another product I mentioned in my last post is a walking treadmill. Although I love to take walks outside, I don’t exactly love the cold winters or the scorching hot summers. So having a walking treadmill inside that I can easily store away was a winning find. This is the one I have. Fold-able Walking Pad

There are several types of walking pads out there but I love this one in particular because it’s fold-able. This allows for easy storage under my desk or couch. I will say you can feel the crease when you are walking but that is not something that bothers me. This one goes up to 4 mph. I typically will do 15-20 minutes at a time at 3.5 mph. I try to walk in the morning before working out, after lunch and then after dinner.

So far we are going on about a week and a half of this routine. Again, I am just starting out but really confident that I am already developing better habits. I actually want to get up and work out which is not something that I have ever felt in the past. I’m also way more hungry than I have been so next I will really be researching and trying to dial in what foods I need to eat to fuel my body.

Let me know your thoughts on these products if you have tried them or even if you have your own favorites!
