Hello! Welcome to my first post. I am a little nervous I must say. I’ve never done this before but wanted to do this in hopes to inspire others. I am a mother of two boys and will be 35 this year. Up until this point, I have worked out intermittently and ate like crap. I am a fairly picky eater so have always used that as an excuse not to have a healthy diet. Well, from here on out, that is going to change.
I read a book last month called, “The Power of Self-Discipline” by Peter Collins. This is what changed my mindset and flipped the switch on how I viewed things. The book teaches you how to lead your life with intention, stop the negative behaviors and really look at your excuses head on. I needed it. I’ve considered myself to be a lazy person and have stepped back to look at my excuses. None of which are valid, by the way. I decided that if I wanted that sexy body and wanted to have more energy for my kids and wanted more confidence, I could no longer make excuses. I needed to get up off my ass and make a habit out of these new changes.
I started to do some Pinterest research for healthy snacks, meals and workouts. I also pinned cute outfits to remind myself of how I want to look and what I want to look good wearing. I purchased a walking treadmill to ease my way into it along with some pre-workout to give me that boost of energy in the morning. I also moved my phone charger to my bathroom so I have to get up and walk to another room to turn the alarm off. Below I have listed my new routine. This will probably evolve but for now this is where I am starting.
6:00 am wake up
Eat a quick snack
Drink my pre workout
15 brisk walk on the treadmill
20 minutes of weight lifting
5 minutes post workout stretch
Shower
Eat a snack
Make my coffee
Start my day
Now, this looks like a lot to do in the morning. But I promise you it goes so fast. I can be done with all of this in just over an hour depending on how long my shower is. On the weekdays, it’s fast. Have I failed on this routine already? I absolutely have. It’s cold where I live right now, and it’s really hard to get out of a warm cozy bed. But that is OK! We will fail. We will miss days. We will be lazy. You just have to commit to getting back up and starting again. You are worth it. You owe it to yourself to improve your health and your life.
We will get into the specific products I have started out with in another post. As this blog continues I’ll let you know what I am eating, how many days I have worked out (6-7 right now) and any progress that I have made. For now, I wanted to get this started and have you at the start of it all. I’ve posted a before shot. Don’t judge. This is me, 170 lbs. The biggest I have been (outside of pregnancy) and I am not happy about it. I’m ready for a change. To have my body back. To have more energy. To feel CONFIDENT.
I challenge you to start your journey with me. Leave your comments to show your progress, let me know what you want to see from me. I welcome everyone and encourage you all to embrace your change.
